"No spills!" I say,  as if the contents of my cup held life's elixir itself.

Amidst the prevailing uncertainties that weigh heavy on so many hearts, I find myself at a loss for words.

I shift my focus to the vast ocean, where glimmers of light play within the embrace and folds of its own rhythmic waves.

My steps lead me along a gravel path, a wooden tray cradled in my hands, bearing the weight of coffee, cream, and quiche.

My destination: a bench fashioned from the remnants of a weathered tree, a seat sculpted by nature's artistry. From here, I am gifted with a panoramic view of the sea, a canvas painted with tranquility.

Birds sway with grace on the currents, their movements carefree, carried by the invigorating breeze. The ocean's melody of soothing sounds pervade, providing solace for my mind and a sanctuary for my heart. Waves of varying intensities paint their own canvas – crashing within, and then being embraced anew by the next.

The bench beckons, and my pace quickens, only to meet an unexpected fate as my coffee dances within its cup, leaving a stain on the gray placemat which I tucked within the tray.

"No spills!" I say,  as if the contents of my cup held life's elixir itself.  In each sip, I find solace, a moment of reprieve from the impermanence that surrounds us.

In this gentle mishap, a truth surfaces — our natural inclination to hold onto the known amidst the ever-shifting sands of change. It's a dance between seeking stability and acknowledging the inherent impermanence of life. Perhaps both exist at the same time.

My journey continues, and though preventing the coffee's dance seems futile, I tread gently, taking slow steps.

An analogy unfolds: in the face of life's unpredictable currents, we can approach each challenge with grace, pausing, breathing, tending to our surroundings and relationships – a testament to our capacity for compassion and love amidst change.

For me, the essence lies in the serenity of solitude, the warmth of a coffee cup, the stillness of the moment, and the horizon stretching endlessly.

The more I love the less I actually feel I know.

In these moments, my thoughts extend to those who are in need, and my heartfelt wish is for an all-encompassing embrace of love for everyone. #maui #love #climatechange
