Finding Magic: A new home and the power of compassion.

Dear Friends,

There is Clarity, Innate Knowing, Focus, Diligence, and Intent.

All through moment-to-moment rest, letting things be just as they are, and facing everything fully with complete perceptual openness.

I sit on top of this mountain to write to you, thank you for your presence here.

From nature's office, I feel the wind blowing, see the flowers blooming, and hear the crows cawing. The bees buzz, and the wind in my ears offers comfort and serenity. Dark clouds paint the sky stormy blue, and the tall pine trees amplify the soothing sound of the wind.

In this newsletter, I reflect on finding clarity and simplicity amidst life's complexities, sharing insights from my new home and experiences in Missoula, Montana. You'll read about choosing ease in difficult situations, the power of intent and generosity, and ways to understand natural wholeness and well-being.

Groove to this New Playlist

Warmly and with love,

Cheyenne

Story

A New Home

I've found a place to live that reminds me of Hogwarts. Everyone here is in their late 20s or early 30s, with little animals wandering through the entry staircase to say hello. There's Dobbs, Gimlee, and Arthur. My flat, built in 1936, features hardwood floors, giant windows, 8-foot ceilings, and green vines cascading down the front of the English-style building, bringing nature in. I've saged it three times to make it my own and clear any lingering energies. It's perfectly situated: two blocks from the coffee shops on "the hip strip," two minutes from the river path, and four blocks from the yoga studio. It's exactly what I need right now.

Embracing the Journey

While my heart longs for living within the serene mountains and forests of Montana, where I hope to share wellness offerings inspired by nature, yoga, and meditation, I am embracing this present chapter with gratitude. My current home provides the perfect setting to explore and develop these ideas. It’s a reminder that every step, no matter how different from our ultimate goal, is essential and valuable. This balance between present needs and future dreams is part of my holistic approach to wellness.

A Glimpse of the City's Reality

While searching for housing, I spoke with people in various apartment buildings in my city. The reality is harsh: the town is not well. People are crying, angry, and unable to afford the high prices of housing, whether renting or buying. There's palpable stress. As I inquired about living conditions, doors were slammed in my face, but others shared their frustrations openly. This is Missoula, Montana, where people are struggling to "survive." Basic needs should be a human right, accessible to everyone, not just a few.

As I walk along the river path near downtown, the sight of tents by the river serves as a stark reminder of the growing homelessness issue in our mountain town. This juxtaposition of natural beauty and human struggle underscores the need for a community that supports everyone.

Everyone deserves beautiful housing, good food, healthcare, and education. This issue is part of a larger, comprehensive problem involving how we use our minds, how we approach life together on this planet, and how we care for one another, all beings, and the earth itself. Let's take it to real survival and what that truly means. Albert Einstein said, “You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.” There is a greater reality we must all come to know, and it's in the simplicity of the mind and heart as ONE. Feel the energy in your body, get to know it, get to know the innate intelligence that IS you and pervades everything. It is crucial in order to solve ALL the problems we face, and it is SIMPLE.

The Power of Intent and Generosity

Despite the challenges, beneficial intention can shape our reality. Through focused intent and perseverance, I found a home. My parents' generosity played a crucial role—they invited me back early from California and provided housing while I searched for my own place. This privilege allowed me to take my time in finding the right home.

For those who might not know, I spent 2.5 years in California during part of COVID, living beachside and engaging deeply with my meditation community. I also studied yoga and assisted in Yoga Teacher Trainings in Berkeley. Returning to my native Montana with the support of my parents has been a blessing. I cherish the nine months I lived with them, a time of harmony and special moments.

Finding Simplicity in Complexity

Understanding that you are whole and complete allows for the creation of everything you wish for—harmony in relationships and generosity in service to others. This may sound idealistic, but the direct experience of this is possible. How? Through modalities that rest the body and mind: yoga, meditation, praying, dance, walking in nature, reiki, singing, breathing, tai chi, swimming, running, and more. The treasure of total wholeness and well-being lies in simplicity—resting naturally and getting to know the innate ease of nature’s intelligence as your very self.
